That’s the motif of the grand prize winner of the 27th annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest. The artist is Wei Jin Qian (pictured), a 13-yearold girl from Dalian, China. More than 400,000 students worldwide, ages 11 to13, submitted posters. Qian received US$5,000 and appearances at Lions Day at the United Nations in March in New York City and the 98th International Convention in June in Honolulu. A Good Hair Day The whir of razors filled the Romeo Lions Field House in Michigan, and swaths of hair fell softly to the floor. Lions hosted the annual shave in March to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, devoted to children battling cancer. A total of 589 children and adults, including several Lions, had their hair sheared off and raised $317,000 for the foundation, says Todd Trbovich, president.
