CATCHING SPRING FEVER Major League Baseball started in April, but May is a prime time for the sport in Fairbanks, Alaska, when the temperatures average 48 degrees (18 degrees warmer than April) and daylight lasts 17 hours (compared to 13 1/2 hours in April).
